Movies in the Park returns for the summer

Movies in the Park is back this month, with three different dates to watch family-favourite films under the stars.

After the July movie dates were cancelled due to COVID-19, the popular summer event is back for three different dates in August and September. The event is open and free to all Whitchurch-Stouffville residents. All movie showings will be taking place at Memorial Park and will begin at around 8:30 p.m.

Here are the films that you can watch under the stars this summer:

  • Aug. 21: Toy Story
  • Sept. 4: Guardians of the Galaxy
  • Sept. 11: The Secret Life of Pets

This year Ontario SPCA will make their mark at The Secret Life of Pets viewing. On the Sept. 11 date, vendors will be selling recyclable paw-printed bags with goods inside that include two bottles of water, caramel corn, cotton candy, soft candies and a beanie animal toy, with a portion of each purchase going to the SPCA.

On other dates, attendees can expect vendors such as Vince’s BBQ and Christina Cooks Catering Company.

To keep all attendees safe during the event, face coverings must be worn upon entering and exiting the event, in line for food, when visiting the washrooms, or in any space that is outside of your designated viewing area.

The event is opened to all members of the Whitchurch-Stouffville community, and residents can sign up through WS Play.
