Stouffville Ribfest comes to you in a new format this year: Drive-Thru!

Taking place Friday, October 2nd through Sunday, October 4th, this is the first time that Stouffville will see a Drive-Thru Ribfest. Two of your favourite Rib teams are returning to deliver this annual event.  The new set-up will reduce contact and will give everyone a safe way to get the highly anticipated championship ribs with award winning BBQ sauces.

“The Town’s Special Events team has been working diligently to re-invent Stouffville’s favourite events,” said Ashley Chappell, Acting Manager of Culture & Community Services with the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville. “We recognize that residents look forward to these events year after year, and we want 2020 to be no exception – we just had to find a new way to do things.  Offering a drive-thru Ribfest removes the high-risk components of the traditional Ribfest, while still allowing attendees to enjoy their favourite ribs and an event to which they can look forward. With the success of the recent Movies in the Park nights, we are confident that residents appreciate our COVID-19 mindful planning, and we will continue to present large-scale special events in new and creative ways, while keeping the heart of each event in the foreground.”

To ensure a high-level of service and reduce wait times, anyone wishing to attend must pre-register their vehicle for entry. Registration will be through Eventbrite where tickets will be sold for each hour of event operation. The event is free to attend, there is no fee associated with the ticket purchase. Attendees can head to the entrance of the event at Hoover Park Drive and Park Drive within the time-frame shown on their ticket.  Friday time slots run from 3 to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday time slots run from noon to 8 p.m. Guests are welcome to visit more than once over the course of the three-day event. They just need to be sure to obtain a ticket for each visit.

Prior to exiting the event, donations will be accepted. Donations support community events as well as the Join In Recreation Subsidy Fund. This Fund helps to remove financial barriers for those who otherwise would not be able to participate in local recreation and culture programs.
