Mayor encourages residents to get moving

Get moving with Mayor Iain Lovatt as we kick-off the spring season by celebrating physical movement and activity.

Share your pictures of you and your family getting active.

From May 23 to May 30, you can participate in the virtual event led by Mayor Lovatt and the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville Special Events Team.

While we can’t gather for the annual Bike & BBQ, this event gives you the flexibility to complete your activity in whatever way you choose. Whether it’s on your bike, running around your neighborhood or an inside workout, the town’s event team would like to encourage you to get active and have fun.

Share a photo of your activity by using the hashtag #WSGetMoving for your chance to win a prize. One person in each activity category: Wheels, On Foot and Other, will be chosen at random and will receive an awesome Canadian Tire gift card.

After you exercise, relax, have a delicious lunch and maybe try out the mayor’s favorite BBQ recipes. The events team will be sharing the mayor’s recipes and other BBQ recipes leading up to the event as well.

The Whitchurch-Stouffville Special Events team, 19 on the Park and the museum are offering new activity initiatives through their Facebook pages: @TWSEvents, @19onthePark, @WSMuseum. Check it out for some fun things that you can do at home with your family.
