Lions Club prepares to satisfy hungry fair attendees

The Markham Lions Club’s food booth has just received an uplifting makeover, thanks to a team of dedicated volunteer painters from the Sherwin-Williams paint store in Stouffville.

As a good corporate citizen serving many communities wherever their stores are located, Sherwin-Williams often supports charitable events by getting involved in various projects while giving something back to their local community.

The freshly painted food booth looks fantastic and will be ready to serve hungry visitors throughout the four days of the Markham Fair, thanks to the teamwork between Sherwin-Williams Paints and Markham Fair volunteers, as well as the Markham Lions Club volunteers who prepared delicious food for the painters.

The Markham Lions Club is a group of men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs. Funds raised each year from sales at the food booth go towards the club’s charitable efforts including a variety of projects that serve those who are in need.

“When I heard from Todd Silverman of The Markham Fairgrounds that the Markham Lions Club were planning on repainting their food booth, I felt this would be a worthy project to assist with,” said Kam Malik, Business Development Representative at Sherwin Williams Paints. “Once the Markham Fair and the Markham Lions Club agreed on the colours, our Stouffville Sherwin-Williams team along with a number of the staff from the Markham Fair, were able to complete the project in time.”

The Markham Lions Club invites everyone to visit their food booth and check out the newly finished makeover while visiting the Markham Fair this year and enjoying a delicious breakfast, lunch and supper served by Markham Lions.

The Markham Fair takes place from October 3 to October 6. The fairgrounds is located at McCowan Rd. and Elgin Mills Rd.
