Exam time can be stressful for students. Exam schedules vary widely, and it can be hard to set aside time to study.
The Whitchurch-Stouffville Public Library tries to make exam time as easy as possible for our teens.
Extended Hours Study Halls during this time is available, where teens can enter the library before closing, register with staff, and have a quiet space to concentrate on their studying.
Study Halls run after hours on Thursday, January 16th until 10:00 p.m., Saturday, January 18th until 8:00 p.m., and Sunday, January 19th until 8:00 p.m.
Teens will also have access to a variety of snacks – some free and some for a nominal fee – to keep them energized while they study. Just bring your Student ID to participate.
After exams are over, the library has some programs to help teens unwind from all that prep and work. January 24th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. they have a gaming tournament for Switch and PS4 fans. January 30th is the Post-Exams Party from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with games, snacks and fun activities.
January 31st from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. we have Duct Tape Madness where teens can create a wide variety of accessories from the old standby duct tape in a variety of fun colours takes place January 31st from 2 to 3 p.m
And on February 1st, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. teens get a chance to decorate the Teen Lounge by making their own art for the walls and tables.
Teens into Math will want to check out the coaching for the Canadian Open Mathematics Challenge. The challenge happens in the fall, but the Saturday coaching sessions start in January. Register on WSPlay with barcode 10743.
