The Whitchurch-Stouffville Public Library is offering residents of Whitchurch-Stouffville a chance to build and play together on their new Minecraft server.
Minecraft is a popular game that brings players together in a virtual world to explore and build creativity and problem-solving skills through creation of structures and sourcing of raw resources and tools. The server launched on July 20 and is designated for players aged 6-18.
“Minecraft is recognized worldwide for its educational properties,” says Margaret Wallace, WSPL Chief Executive Officer. “It allows players to socialize safely while gaming and also reinforces STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) skills that are crucial for children and youth to develop.”
Interested players can call the library at 905-642-7323 or email Kate Scheiers, Coordinator of Programs, at firstname.lastname@example.org for the WSPL Minecraft Code of Conduct, which must be read and signed before playing.
For any questions or concerns, staff are available Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. You can call the library at 905-642-7323 and leave a voicemail or email email@example.com.
