Many are familiar with the idea of a pop-up store, event, sales and whatnot but a pop-up library? That may be a new one. But for most of the summer, a library will be popping up different days, all over town – at parks, splash-pads and green spaces.
While the libraries, community centre digs are being upgraded, many might not have trudged to the temporary location at 175 Mostar, so the mobile version is a perfect time for time-strapped parents, and people out for a summer walk to experience library offerings.
Although the pop-up version won’t have hard copy books to check out, it will have some great interactive activities notes the library. “The pop-up libraries will have activities like squishy circuits and information on our expansion plans, mobile hotspots, library programs and services. We want to meet residents where they are and take advantage of the beautiful Town Parks in the many different neighbourhoods of Whitchurch-Stouffville.”
