The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville is thirsty for change, launching a #H202Go Program to encourage you to take advantage of water-bottle filling stations in Town facilities in order to reduce your use of single-use plastics.
Residents are encouraged to tag the Town in photos using the ‘hydration stations’ using the hashtag #H202Go.
“Reducing or eliminating the use of single-use plastics is a desired state for any community,” says Mayor Iain Lovatt. “I’m grateful staff has prepared this initiative to not only do our part for the environment but also promote Stouffville’s exceptional drinking water.”
The Town has removed bottled water from meetings in Town facilities and installed hydration stations at Town Hall, 6240 Main St., Leisure Centre, Operations Centre, Soccer City, Stouffville Arena and Clippers Complex. Hydration stations will be available at the Museum and 19 on the Park in the coming months.
Town staff will remind residents of the benefits of reusable plastics as part of the campaign. Reusable water bottles are available for purchase for $5 each at the Leisure Centre, Museum, 19 on the Park, Soccer City and municipal offices.
