Stouffville Firehouse Subs had a visit from Fire Chief Bill Snowball and members of his team on January 14.

Luckily for the local franchisees – Huan Dang, Warren Luong, and Uyen Tran – it was for a grant presentation, rather than a fire.

The local fire department received a grant for $33,679 from Firehouse Subs. The money will fund a digital fire extinguisher training system.

The system will allow the department to train firefighting techniques within the fire station and will be incorporated into public education initiatives, benefiting the community.

In 2015, the company opened its first Firehouse Subs restaurant in Canada, and the registered charity, Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada, was born.

Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada has granted more than $847,000 to hometown heroes in Canada.

The foundation’s mission is to provide funding, lifesaving equipment, and educational opportunities to first responders and public safety organizations.
