Film showcases life in a residential school

Markham at the Movies starts its 2018-19 season on Sept. 25 with the film Indian Horse. The matinee show starts at 1:30 pm and is followed by the evening show at 7 p.m. The films are screened at Flato Markham Theatre.

Based on the novel by Canadian author, Richard Wagamese, the film follows the life of Saul Indian Horse, as he survives being torn from his Ojibway family at seven, growing up in residential school and living with the racism of the 1970s. A talented hockey player, Saul must find his own path.
