On May 22, a 20-year-old Whitchurch-Stouffville cyclist was struck and killed in a hit and run on Ninth Line near Bethesda Sideroad. Police believe he was cycling between 2 and 6 a.m. and are looking for a vehicle with fresh damage.

York Regional Police responded to a call at about 6 a.m. after a passerby noticed the cyclist on the roadside. Investigators believe the cyclist was travelling southbound on Ninth Line. The vehicle that struck him failed to remain at the scene, where the cyclist succumbed to his injuries.
