If you’re a country music fan, then Kris Barclay should definitely be on your ‘one to watch’ list. This university hockey player turned recording artist is quickly establishing himself as a superb performer. His high energy shows, original songwriting, and husky voice have earned him opening spots for country music names such as Brett Kissel and Dean Brody.
In April, Barclay was asked to play at the Boots and Hearts Kick-off Party.
His Garth Brooks meets Eric Church style won the crowd, and Barclay now finds himself with the honour of hosting all four days of the renowned Havelock Jamboree this August.
“Kris is such a talented guy,” says Ashley Chappell, the Cultural Facility Supervisor for 19 on the Park. “I am certain this artist will skyrocket in his career, and then Stouffville can be proud to say we had him here early in his career.”
19 on the Park will present Barclay on August 26 in its fourth annual Summer Patio Series. These licensed, open-air concerts feature amazing up-and-coming artists under the stars. Should there be rain, 19’s indoor space offers an alternative, so the show goes on. Tickets are $29, or a table of 8 for $175.
