Lightwire Theater, known for their signature brand of dazzling visuals, poignant storytelling and music designed to evoke imagery, debuted their first holiday show, A Very Electric Christmas, in their hometown of New Orleans in December 2013.
The captivating and magical tale of adventure, friendship and love centres around a young bird named Max, a familiar character to Lightwire Theater audiences, and brings a whole new meaning to coming home for the holidays.
A Very Electric Christmas runs for two performances on Dec. 8 at the Flato Markham Theatre; the first at 2 p.m. and another at 7 p.m.
Performed in complete darkness, the story comes to life via multi-dimensional neon puppetry-based characters with light, wire and creative artistry. The show features Nutcracker soldiers with candy-canes, naughty rats, an electric Christmas tree surrounded by presents, glow worms, dancing flowers and other creatures that light up the stage.
Lightwire Theater has been entertaining audiences all over the world with their combination of dance, puppetry and technology since their appearance, in 2012, as semi-finalists on America’s Got Talent.
Lightwire Theatre’s A Very Electric Christmas is at the Flato Markham Theatreat 2 and 7 p.m. on Dec. 8. Tickets are available by calling 905-305-7469 or online here.
