Summer (at Canada’s Wonderland) is just around the corner

One of the first signs that Summer is on its’ way is the opening of Canada’s Wonderland. This year, the park opened on April 30th and getting geared up for the oncoming of kids and their families by introducing two exciting new rides Muskoka Plunge and Soaring Timbers (pictured below) May 27. The park will also feature a fun line up of live shows throughout the Season including; Cirque Canadien, Parkour Freestyle, and a Chinese Acrobatic Show. Doors Open Stouffville to show off the best of the best

Doors Open Stouffville will be celebrating 13 years with 12 outstanding sites of historical, architectural and cultural importance. Admission is free for visitors at all participating sites on June 3 between 10 am and 4 pm (unless otherwise noted). On the list is: Altona Mennonite Meeting House located at 5475 Sideline 30 located at Sideline 30 and the Uxbridge-Pickering Townline was built by pioneers who emigrated from Pennsylvania, this 1852 brick meeting house has never been renovated. Memorial golf tournament now in eleventh year

Onesima and Tony Raponi wanted to do something to honour their son, who passed away in Jan. 2007, and decided on an annual golf tournament for charity. Over the past decade the tournament has raised more than $50,000 for charities like the World Wildlife Foundation, Covenant House Toronto, and St. Mark’s Parish in Stouffville. Stouffville arena packed for annual home show

The Stouffville Home Show was another huge success. The arena was full with various home-related and lifestyle exhibits. Lions members were out selling yellow duckies for the upcoming race to be held at the Strawberry Festival. Tom Welders was on hand to explain how the rubber ducky race works. The Girl Guides were selling yummy cookies as a fundraiser. Many kids were full of smiles chopping on the cookies while visiting the many exhibits with their parents.
