Beginning this September, The Latcham Gallery is introducing Latcham Saturdays, community-oriented programming in the Gallery for visitors of all ages. Latcham Saturdays offer opportunities for everyone in the community to get to know their public art gallery and make some art. Bring a friend, or bring the whole family. It’s time to get creative together this fall.

Each Saturday from September 9 to October 14, visit the Gallery from 10am-4pm to participate in free, drop-in art making activities for THE LEAF PROJECT. Everyone is welcome to learn a new technique or medium each week, no experience necessary. The gallery team has invited local artists to come share their skills with the community.

THE LEAF PROJECT is The Latcham Gallery’s massive community project, celebrating Canada 150 and the diversity of Stouffville’s growing community. The goal is to collect 1000 unique leaves that will come together to create a giant mobile that will hang from the Gallery’s ceiling.

Latcham Saturdays will continue through October with the big reveal of the completed LEAF PROJECT on October 21. Halloween art treats will be handed out to children on October 28 as part of the annual Halloween Hunt in Downtown Stouffville.

Want to create a leaf for THE LEAF PROJECT from home? Go to www.latchamgallery.ca and print off the leaf template to create the size and shape. There are also templates available for pickup at The Latcham Gallery located at 6240 Main St. Draw, paint, sew, print, etc.. Don’t forget to return your leaves to the Gallery when completed.
