Hats for Hope organizer Melissa Nichols needs your help to ensure success on October 21 at the National Brain Tumour Conference. She is hoping that area residents will take the time to knit or crochet to show support for cancer patients. While Nichols was sporting a bald head after treatment in 2014 for her brain tumour, she was dumbfounded by an act of kindness from someone she barely knew; it was a gift of a handmade knitted hat. Latcham Gallery curator Elisa Coish starts in October and will have the upcoming Travis Shilling exhibit on display starting Nov. 2. Coish is a University of Toronto graduate with a BA, Honours in Art History and Cinema Studies. For the past ten years, she held the position of Associate Curator for the Corporate Art Collection at the Bank of Montreal. EIC helps Barbuda families in need

Emmanuel International Canada is helping the families of Barbuda with emergency food kits.. Hurricane Irma ran a path of destruction across the Leeward Islands and Barbuda was the hardest hit. Packing 185-mile-per-hour winds, the storm destroyed houses, snapping trees and killing at least one person. Confirmed reports indicate that the infrastructure of Barbuda is 90% destroyed.
